My Journey in Climate Action
As a dedicated climate communication expert, I've spent years at the forefront of climate action in Uganda and the Greater Horn of Africa. My work with the Network of Climate Journalists of the Greater Horn of Africa (NECJOGHA), where I serve as CEO and Coordinator, has focused on amplifying voices in climate reporting and fostering science-based storytelling. I've led initiatives to build climate resilience in vulnerable communities, collaborating with organizations like the Support for Women in Agriculture and Environment to promote sustainable practices. My efforts have included training media professionals and youth on climate issues, ensuring that accurate information drives policy and community responses. Through events like the IGAD Media Awards and UNFCCC engagements, I've pushed for stronger regional cooperation on climate challenges.
Leadership & Advocacy
As the 5th Prime Minister of the National Youth Parliament Uganda, I played a key role in shaping youth policies and initiatives at the national level. I have also been recognized for my leadership as a Youth Climate Action Negotiator at UNFCCC, where I have been instrumental in advancing youth perspectives in international climate negotiations.
My Expertise in Consultancy
In my consultancy role, I provide strategic guidance to organizations, governments, and NGOs on integrating climate considerations into their operations. Drawing from my experience as a climate change specialist, I've consulted on projects ranging from environmental impact assessments to sustainable development strategies. For instance, I've advised on policy implementation for renewable energy adoption and climate-smart agriculture. My approach emphasizes data-driven solutions and stakeholder engagement, helping clients navigate complex regulatory landscapes. As a consultant with GAYO Uganda and other platforms, I've delivered workshops and advisory services that have empowered institutions to achieve measurable sustainability goals.
My Role in Policy Advocacy
As a policy advocate, I've been instrumental in shaping climate and environmental policies at national and regional levels. Through my involvement with the Climate Action Network Uganda and UNFCCC processes, I've advocated for youth inclusion in climate negotiations and pushed for ambitious national commitments. I've participated in high-level panels, including the Voices for Climate Action series and ECOSense Magazine discussions, where I've highlighted the need for equitable climate justice. My advocacy has focused on bridging the gap between grassroots experiences and policy-making, influencing reforms in Uganda's national climate strategy and supporting the development of inclusive frameworks for the Greater Horn of Africa.
